Summer Fun Fluffy Bestie Card

Hello Everyone! Today I want to share with you my Design Team project for the Color it, Create it, Show it off, Challenge Blog. For my project I created this Summer Fun Fluffy Bestie Card.

For my card I used a My Bestie Digital Stamp by Sherri Baldy called Fluffy Sunshine Girl image 009 that you can find here: http://www.mybestiesshop.com/store/p3235/NEW_%22Fluffy_Besties_TM%22_Meet_%22Fluffy_Sunshine_Girl%22_My_Besties_img009_Sherri_Baldy_digi_stamp_.html.

You can also find our current challenge for the Color it, Create it, Show it off Challenge Blog which is always Anything Goes here: http://coloritcreateitshowitoff.blogspot.com/2016/05/my-besties-color-it-create-it-show-it.html.

To create my card first I cut out the card base with my Explore out of plain card stock. I then cut my first scalloped mat from patterned card stock with the Fancy Frames Dies from Craftin Desert Diva's. After that I added a silver doily and a white framed border that I cut using a Spellbinders Die.

Next I printed the digital stamp onto plain white 110 lb. card stock and colored the image in with Copics. I then layered Prismacolor Premier Pencils over the top for my highlights and shadows. Once I was done coloring this sweet Bestie, I then fussy cut her out and attached her to my card base. To finish I added ribbon, flowers, and rhinestones for some extra sparkle and embellishment.

I hope that you are inspired by my project and join in our challenge with your own projects for your chance to win some Amazing Bestie prizes. DT Mindy

My Bestie Mermaid Mixed Media Tag

Hello Besties! Today I want to share with you my most recent Design Team Project for the Color It, Create It, Show It Off Challenge Blog. For my project I created a Mixed Media My Bestie Mermaid Tag.

To create my tag I used a My Bestie Digital Stamp by Sherri Baldy called Lil Ragmuffin Mermaid that you can find here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/126694312/instant-download-digital-digi-stamps-big.

You can also find our current challenge for the Color It, Create It, Show It Off Challenge Blog here: http://coloritcreateitshowitoff.blogspot.com/2016/04/my-besties-color-it-create-it-show-it.html
Our challenge is always anything goes. We invite you to enter your own creations for your chance to win some Amazing Bestie prizes!

To make my tag first I printed out the digital stamp onto plain white 110 lb. card stock. I then colored this sweet mermaid in with Copics, and then added the highlights with Prismacolor Premier Pencils. After that I fussy cut her, and inked the paper edges with Colorbox Chalk Ink in Ocean Blue.

Next I created the Tag base. First I used Golden Acrylic Paint to add my base colors. I then used a stencil and Gesso to add some extra texture. Once the Gesso dried I then added another layer of Acrylic paint and let it dry. After that I glued various flowers, rhinestones, jewels, feathers, doily's and sequins to my tag base to add extra embellishment and interest. To finish I then attached my mermaid with foam tape, and then added ribbon to the top of my tag.

I hope that you enjoy my project, and are inspired to try out your own mixed media tag. I wish you all a wonderful day! DT Mindy

To create my card first I cut the bottom mat from patterned card stock from the largest of the Picture Frames Dies. I then cut the inside window part from patterned card stock using the inner Picture Frame Die and the second largest of the Fancy Frames Dies to cut out around window frame Die.

Next I stamped the animals from the Peek A Boo Animals Stamps, and the Roses and leaves from the Flowers in Bloom Stamps onto plain white 110 lb. card stock. I then used Copics to color in all the images. After that I fussy cut everything out and attached all of the elements to my card base. To finish I added Melon Drop Sequins, and Rhinestones for some extra embellishment.
